What to Expect
Your participation helps us better understand and support first responders. Here's an overview of what participation involves.
4-Hour Workshop
You'll attend one 4-hour interactive workshop, in person or remote, with other first responders. As part of Project FiRST, we're evaluating two workshops — CARE and WRT — each offering practical skills that can help on and off the job. Your agency will take part in one of them.

1-Hour Booster Session
About 3 months after the workshop, you'll be asked to attend a 1-hour booster session. We'll review key skills, build on what you learned, and problem-solve together.

• Stay connected and keep building your toolkit
Online Surveys
You'll complete online surveys at 6 different time points over 12 months. These surveys help us understand how things change over time.
• Surveys take about 45 minutes each
• Compensation provided for each completed survey
• You'll receive email reminders with a secure link
